The castle is a castle with a story. In the 7th and 8th centuries AD, it was already a defensive fortification for feudal lords. Later, the castle changed hands and became the official residence of the Count of Urot, the Prime Minister of Henry III, and Brion, the President of the Parliament of Henry IV. In the early 19th century, the castle was owned by the famous La Rochefoucauld family. When the Allied forces landed in Normandy during World War II and attacked Paris, the famous General Patton also stationed here.
